Some of my best works are the ones where I felt like I didn’t paint them at all, but rather held the brush as a miraculous force of love and spirituality flowed through me, dancing across the canvas in a flurry of life. These are very special moments indeed.
My Grandmother always said, “Your talents are given to you by God. What you do with them is what you give back to Him.” I hope in some way I’m able to touch the lives of others through my art and passion for the things I do.
I find a tremendous amount of inspiration through all types of art . From interior design, landscapes, and architecture, to theater and dance, but especially through music.
I was fortunate to grow up the daughter of a very talented jazz pianist. I dedicate this website to my Dad, Tom Niebuhr. A fervent student of music and all things aviation, who never hesitated to share his knowledge with others. I love you Dad.
To capture the moment of inspiration and awe; the glorious feeling within. This is every great photographer’s dream. Here are some of my favorite moments I was lucky enough to capture.
Helen Hunt Falls, near Colorado Springs
Zilker Park, Original color version
This unique tree lay almost perfectly horizontal across the Colorado River in Austin, TX. I was absolutely amazed at the perfectly graceful weight balance in such an unusual position. Nature never ceases to astound me. I went back a few years later and was saddened to find that a flood had taken it down and washed it partially down the then dry creek bed.

Captured this glorious display on a road trip to Santa Fe
This was taken on a day spent with my Dad and our cameras, in what was then the very small town of Melissa, Texas. We spent a lot of time setting up the perfect shot, playing with exposures and filters... I love how the huge silos loom in the distance behind this simple little country house, the clouds powerful in their own right. But most of all, this image speaks to me in volumes of quality time spent together.
One of my all time favorites. Captured this literally at the end of the roll of film. I left the bleed on the left to remind me how close I came to not getting the shot, and feel it is perfect the way it is.

Sometimes a few simple pops of color can bring a home to life when preparing it to sell. Whether vacant or occupied, a little bit of love shows up well in photos and marketing.

There is nothing more satisfying than having people want to see and and enjoy your work. I have been fortunate to hang my art in some great locations throughout central Texas., including Austin, The Arboretum, Westlake, Taylor, Dallas, Bishop Arts District, McKinney and in the offices of private collectors. Thanks to each and every one of you who continue to come out to support me. It really means a lot!
I worked hard to organize and coordinate an art show fundraiser for Lyme disease. The show included over twenty artists from all over the country, and a remote guest appearance from a Lyme specialist in New York.
